Sunday Preschool Religion

2 Sessions- Fall & Winter

Sunday Preschool is a faith-filled program designed for children ages 4 through kindergarten to begin their journey of discovering God's love.

For Parents & Students - Information, Forms, & Resources

To Parents & Students

Preparing for First Holy Communion is a deeply joyful and sacred journey of faith for children and their families. This cherished sacrament marks a powerful moment in a child’s spiritual life, as they encounter Jesus truly present in the Eucharist for the very first time! Receiving Him into their hearts and growing in a more intimate relationship with His abiding love.

Spiritual Focus

Throughout their preparation, children are gently encouraged to grow closer to Jesus, learn about the beauty and meaning of the Mass, and come to love the Eucharist as the heart of our Catholic faith.

Preparation Throughout The Year

  • Religion Class: Through engaging classroom lessons, children learn about the Real Presence of Jesus in the Eucharist, the gifts we receive in Holy Communion, the parts of the Mass, and how we actively and reverently participate with open hearts.
  • Parent Involvement: Parents are essential partners in this faith journey. Families are invited to participate through retreats, the Sacrament of Reconciliation, activity nights, and by supporting faith learning at home.
  • Dragon Slayers Retreat: This fun and meaningful day of reflection and adventure helps children deepen their understanding of our faith while learning how to stand strong and defend their hearts against spiritual “dragons” they may face on their journey ahead.

To Parents & Students

Preparing for First Reconciliation is an important and joyful step in your child’s spiritual journey. Through this sacrament, children experience God’s mercy and love in a personal and life-changing way, learning to turn to Him with open hearts and receive His gift of forgiveness.

Spiritual Focus

Our goal is to help children understand that God’s love is unconditional. The Sacrament of Reconciliation is a special gift of healing and peace, guiding children to reflect on their choices and turn to God with open hearts to work towards saintly mindsets and choices that are pleasing to God.

Preparation Throughout The Year

  • Religion Class: Children learn about sin, God’s forgiveness, forming a good conscience, and how to receive the gift of Reconciliation.
  • Parent Involvement: Parents are encouraged to attend their child’s First Reconciliation and support learning at home by modeling the importance of forgiveness and God’s grace.
  • Practice Opportunities: Children are guided through the steps of confession, prayers of Reconciliation, and given chances to practice in a supportive, encouraging environment.
  • Spiritual Goal: Our hope is that children come to understand God’s unconditional love and see Reconciliation as a gift. They are encouraged to develop saintly habits of examining their hearts, bringing what’s been hidden into the light, and seeking God’s forgiveness, peace, and healing.

To Parents & Students

The Sacrament of Confirmation is a joyful step in your spiritual journey, deepening your relationship with the Church and inviting the Holy Spirit to strengthen you as a disciple of Christ. Through acts of service, prayer, and reflection, you grow in faith, love, and courage, embracing your call to live God’s love in the world.

Spiritual Focus

Confirmation prep invites candidates to deepen their relationship with Christ, embrace the mission of the Church by living out the acts of faith by opening their hearts to the transforming power of the gifts of the Holy Spirit, embracing their maturing spiritual walk.

Preparation Throughout The Year

  • Religion Class: In class, candidates explore the Holy Spirit, the gifts and fruits of the Spirit, the meaning of discipleship, and the responsibilities of living as a confirmed Catholic.
  • Retreat Experience: An evening retreat hosted by our HS Youth Ministry - provides time to reflect, pray, and experience the Holy Spirit in community, deepening faith activities, testimonials, and bold fellowship with others.
  • Service Opportunities: Candidates are encouraged to put their faith into action through acts of service, growing in love for God and neighbor.
  • Sponsor Support: Each candidate chooses a sponsor to walk alongside them as a spiritual guide and mentor throughout their Confirmation journey and model of the faith.

Why Service Hours?

Service allows us to put our faith into action, reflecting Christ’s love and compassion in the world. By serving others, we open our hearts to God’s presence and learn to see Christ in those around us. It’s an opportunity to live out the Gospel values, strengthen our character, and grow in our understanding of what it means to be a member of the Body of Christ.

Service Hours Requirement: To help you prepare for Confirmation, each candidate is required to complete a minimum of 14 service hours.
